MORROW, Ga. – Senior Kristiin Mets (Kuressaare, Estonia) delivered a pair of victories as Clayton State (2-11, 0-8 PBC) fell by a 6-3 score at Lander (8-5, 4-4 PBC) in an NCAA Division II women's tennis match on Friday, March 31.
 
Following a pair of 8-1 defeats at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles, Mets and fellow senior Darina Drozdova (St. Petersburg, Russia) teamed together to notch an impressive 8-4 victory over LU's Caroline Yodice and Isabella Schulz.
 
Entering singles with the score at 2-1, the Bearcats picked up a pair of 6-0, 6-0 decisions at the No. 6 and No. 4 positions, respectively, before falling 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 to secure the match.  From there, junior Alina Ageichik (Minsk, Republic of Belarus) prevailed against Julia Suzuki at No. 5, who had to retire due to injury with the score at 4-6, 3-3.
 
Drozdova dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Ivanka Mocic at the two spot before Mets came through at No. 1, earning a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Yuriko Ono to reach the final margin of 6-3.
 
The Lakers are right back in action tomorrow when they head to No. 36 North Georgia. First serve is set for 2 p.m. in Dahlonega, Ga.
