Three Road Matches in As Many Days Await Clayton State; Face Two Nationally Ranked Teams

MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (2-10, 0-7 PBC) will play three matches on the road in as many days as they enter the homestretch of the 2017 regular season, traveling to Lander (7-5, 3-4 PBC), No. 36 North Georgia (15-3, 6-2 PBC) and No. 38 Young Harris (12-5, 5-3 PBC) from March 31 through April 2, respectively. First serve for all three matches is set for 2 p.m.

The Lakers hold a 9-6 advantage all-time over Lander, dating to the first meeting on March 16, 1997. They posted a six match win streak in that series from February 23, 2007 through April 1, 2012 but since then have alternated wins and losses to the tune of a 2-3 record. Most recently the Bearcats earned a 6-3 decision in Morrow on April 16, 2016.

Against North Georgia, Clayton State is an impressive 14-3 since first playing on April 4, 1996, the program's first season. They won the first 14 matches but have lost the last three, including an 8-1 decision in Dahlonega, Georgia on April 9, 2016.

Finally, when taking on Young Harris, the Lakers are 3-2 since the first meeting on April 5, 1999. Following that 9-0 Clayton State victory, the teams did not play again until YHC joined the Peach Belt Conference in 2013. Over the four matches since, the teams have split, with the Mountain Lions earning a 7-2 win on April 10, 2016.
