MORROW, Ga. – Facing one of the stronger teams in the Peach Belt Conference, Clayton State (2-7, 0-5 PBC) could not withstand the onslaught of No. 37 Francis Marion (8-5, 4-3 PBC) as they dropped a 9-0 decision in an NCAA Division II women's tennis match on Thursday, March 23.

In doubles play, the Lakers top performance came from junior
Alina Ageichik (Minsk, Republic of Belarus) and freshman
Laura Shkembi (Oostende, Belgium). That pairing would put up a fight at the No. 2 position before falling 8-3.

In singles, it would be Ageichik that delivered the best outing. She pushed Theresa Hammerschlag at No. 5 before reaching the final of 6-4, 6-2.

The Lakers return to action tomorrow, Friday, March 24 when they host USC Aiken at 2:30 p.m. Originally scheduled for Saturday, March 25, the match was moved up a day.
