Clayton State Looks To Solidify PBC Tournament Seeding Against Young Harris

MORROW, Ga. – In a game critical to securing their spot in the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Tournament, Clayton State (14-11, 9-7 PBC) hosts Young Harris (13-11, 7-8 PBC) on Wednesday, February 15. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at The Loch following the conclusion of the women's contest.

Entering the game, the Lakers find themselves in third place in the PBC West Division, trailing current No. 2 seed North Georgia (10-6) by a game. In that season series they do own the tiebreaker courtesy of a sweep and are trailed by Columbus State (9-8), whom they also swept. In fifth, and currently on the outside looking in, is Georgia College (8-8).

Realistically, without any help, they will need to win two of their last three to secure their first PBC Tournament berth since the 2012-13 season. Two of their final three games are against teams fighting for a spot in the field, including Young Harris (2/15) and Georgia College (2/18).

Clayton State trails the all-time series 7-1 dating back to the first meeting on January 10, 2013. Their lone victory came in the fifth game where they posted a 73-65 decision at The Loch on January 3, 2015. Since then, Young Harris has won the last four, including an 88-70 victory in the mountains on January 28.

Coverage of the game will be available both on live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.
