Road Matchup With Defending PBC Champion Lander Opens 2017 For Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. – Following a 16-day layoff, Clayton State (6-5, 1-1 PBC) heads to defending Peach Belt Conference Tournament Champion Lander (3-8, 0-2 PBC) on Wednesday, January 4. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in Greenwood, South Carolina following the conclusion of the women's contest.
 
The Lakers hold a 14-10 advantage in the all-time series dating back to the first meeting on January 31, 1998. The Bearcats took five of the first six meetings but Clayton State owns the longest winning streak, posting six straight from February 26, 2003 through January 13, 2007. Most recently LU has taken the last two with a 74-64 decision in Greenwood on December 18, 2014 and narrow 78-77 victory on December 17, 2015.
