Clayton State Set to Face Georgia Southwestern in PBC West Division Tilt

MORROW, Ga. – In what has proven to be a wild West Division of the Peach Belt Conference, Clayton State (10-8, 5-4 PBC), currently slotted third, will face off with a Georgia Southwestern (6-10, 4-5 PBC) team that is at the bottom of the standings but is just one game behind them on Wednesday, January 25. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Americus, Georgia following the conclusion of the women's contest.

Six of the seven teams in the West Division are at or above .500 with GSW being the lone exception at 4-5. That being said, every single team in the division is within striking distance of current leaders Young Harris (5-3, .625) and Montevallo (6-4, .600).

The Lakers trail the all-time series 21-14 dating back to the first meeting on January 26, 1991 when both schools were members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Georgia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GIAC).

The Hurricanes won 12 of the first 13 meetings through February 19, 1996 but since then Clayton State has gone 13-9 in the series. With a season sweep last year, a win would give the Lakers a three-game series win streak, equaling their longest from March 4, 2009 through February 27, 2010.

Coverage of the game will be available both on live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.
