MORROW, Ga. – Long-time employee and graduate Sherry Echols has been named Clayton State Athletics Business Manager as announced by Director of Athletics
Tim Duncan on Tuesday, August 2.

"We are very pleased that Sherry Echols has chosen to join our department as Athletics Business Manager," said Duncan. "To be able to hire a Clayton State graduate with experience in a similar role at Spivey Hall, a world renowned concert venue on our campus, will bring a great deal of expertise and stability to this position."

Echols comes to athletics following nearly five years working with Spivey Hall as an accountant. During that time she has utilized skills in accounting and budgeting, artist and vendor relations, communication and technical computer applications to advance the mission of both the institution and one of the premier performance venues in the country.

As part of her duties with Spivey, she handled the processing of artists contracts in a timely fashion while servicing more than 20 customer accounts. Echols also analyzed budget accounts to ensure proper budget management and assisted with any accounts receivable issues.

Prior to her time with Spivey, she served as a Financial Services Office Assistant with the Office of Development at Clayton State from September of 2010 to September 2011.

Before entering the academic world, Echols was an Accounting Services Intern at Friendship Force International in Atlanta, Georgia from July 2008 through July 2009. She was also a Senior Customer Service Representative at M S International in Austell, Georgia from December of 2002 through December of 2007.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Echols graduated from Clayton State with a Bachelor's in Business Administration in May of 2011 and also holds a Master's in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management earned in March 2014.

Echols and her husband of 17 years, Quincy, are the proud parents of six children, Ellis (6), Emeri (9), Eboni (11), Evan (12), Erik (15) and Erika (18). They currently reside in Rex, Georgia.
