MORROW, Ga. – No. 24 Clayton State (22-6, 15-4 PBC) will begin its 11
th NCAA Division II Tournament against one of the few teams in the Southeast Region that they have not faced as they take on No. 5 seeded Anderson (22-6, 18-4 SAC) in an NCAA Quarterfinal on Friday, March 11. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in Gaffney, South Carolina at No. 2 Limestone's Timken Center.

In more than 20 years as a member of the Southeast Region, the Lakers have never faced the Trojans, a club that is coming off of a narrow 67-61 loss to Wingate in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship in their last outing. Prior to that, AU claimed the league's regular season championship outright with an 18-4 SAC mark, directly ahead of the Bulldogs and Newberry, both of whom were 15-7.

The Lakers make their 11
th NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in 12 seasons and boast an overall tournament record of 21-9. Among those 21 wins are three trips to the NCAA Elite Eight and the 2011 NCAA Division II National Championship. The latter is still the only title won by a Southeast Region women's basketball team.

Against the tournament field, Clayton State is a combined 3-4 this season. They posted a pair of wins over Francis Marion for a 12 game series winning streak and split with Lander. They were swept by Columbus State and dropped a decision at Augusta. They did not face Limestone, Anderson or Wingate.

With a win, the Lakers will match up against the winner of the No. 1 seed (No. 2 national) Limestone/No. 8 seed Augusta matchup. That game would be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 in Gaffney, S.C.

Ticket prices will be $5 for general admission, $4 for students with ID and $4 for seniors with ID. Children under the age of 2, accompanied by an adult, and active duty military and military veterans with ID card will not be charged for admission.
