MORROW, Ga. – Still in a dead heat for the Peach Belt Conference West Division and the opportunity to host the league's men's and women's final four, Clayton State (19-4, 13-3 PBC) wraps up their final regular season road trip at Georgia College (16-9, 8-8 PBC) on Wednesday, February 17. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Once 13-2 and 5-1 in conference action, the Bobcats have dropped seven of their last 10 games to fall into a third place tie with North Georgia in the West Division. Following a record setting 13 straight wins to start the season, GC lost four straight games and six of their next four. That would be followed by their current stretch of four losses in their last five games.
While the Lakers had their own midseason swoon, dropping three in a row from January 27 through February 3, they have responded with three straight wins and stand at 19-4 overall, 13-3 in the PBC and tied with Columbus State for the Division lead. Most recently they earned those wins over Georgia Southwestern (68-47), USC Aiken (78-64) and Montevallo (73-57).
Nationally, Clayton State finds itself with three Top-10 statistical rankings, headlined by a No. 4 mark in forced turnovers (24.3). That is followed by No. 5 in steals per game (12.9) and No. 9 in total steals (296).
