Clayton State Hits the Road for Showdown with Georgia College; Huge Impact on Postseason Hopes

MORROW, Ga. – With just three games left in the regular season, Clayton State (14-9, 9-7 PBC) travels to Georgia College (17-8, 10-6 PBC) for what is essentially a playoff game for the right to earn a spot in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

The Bobcats currently hold the fourth and final spot out of the West Division by virtue of a 10-6 league record and 77-75 victory over the Lakers on January 13. A Clayton State win would even the season series and send the decision to the second round of league tiebreakers, each team's record against the division.

Entering play tomorrow night, the Lakers are currently 5-4 in the division with the potential to finish at 8-4 should they win their last three games. GC, meanwhile, is 5-5 with only two games left within the division, including tomorrow night's. Should Clayton State win that game, it would even the team's league record and season series while extending their division mark to 6-4 as compared to the Bobcats 5-6 record.

Down the stretch, Georgia College will face Georgia Southwestern (10-13, 6-10 PBC) and Lander (17-8, 11-5 PBC) with the Lakers taking on Young Harris (13-12, 11-5 PBC) and Columbus State (17-6, 11-5 PBC). Combined with a win tomorrow evening, a win against either of their last two opponents would give Clayton State the tiebreaker should the teams finish with the same league record.

Full live coverage of the game will be available through live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com. A full recap will also be available directly following the contest.
