Kendall Joseph (Snellville, Ga.) each tied career-highs with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Lakers would jump out to early leads of 20-8 and 29-11 over the first eight-plus minutes before Allen closed the gap to 31-25 at 8:35 with a 14-2 run. With the lead at 37-31 two minutes later, however, Clayton State would blow that margin up with a dominant 17-0 run that extended their lead to a commanding 54-31 advantage. They would then close the half with a 59-37 margin.
It would get no better for the Yellow Jackets in the second half as the Lakers used a 10-0 burst to extend to a game-high 32 point lead at 69-37 just 3:49 into the frame. From there, Allen would eventually cut it to 23 (87-64) with 4:15 to play but would come no closer as Clayton State closed out the 25 point victory with the 33rd triple-digit scoring game in program history.
Ivory Drummer led the way for Allen with 16 points and six boards while Emaray Johnson finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 30 minutes. Arvel Atwater added 11 points and seven caroms and Sherrod Wade had 11 points and five rebounds. Avery Harris rounded out the top performers with 11 points.
