No. 24 Clayton State Heads Back to Savannah, Georgia for Third Annual BJ Ford Classic

MORROW, Ga. – Having broken into the D2SIDA Media National Poll with a pair of impressive wins to open the season, No. 24 Clayton State women's basketball returns to the site of those games as they head to the Third Annual BJ Ford Classic hosted by Armstrong State on November 18-19.

The Lakers moved into the poll following an 84-73 victory over No. 21 Anderson (11/11) and a 73-72 decision over Wingate (11/12) last weekend in the 2016 SAC/PBC Challenge. The ranking represents the 109th time the program has been ranked in the Top-25 in either the USA Today or D2SIDA national polls dating back to the 2003-04 season.

The meeting with Livingstone is only the second in program history as the teams met last year at The Loch. In that game Clayton State notched a convincing 83-68 victory on December 5, 2015.

In the series against Barton, the Lakers also hold an undefeated mark with a slightly larger sample size. The series dates back to the first meeting on March 12, 2011. That was a 97-71 victory in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament Semifinals hosted at The Loch and was the first of three straight wins.

Since then Clayton State has posted decisions of 60-49 on December 3, 2011 and 56-46 on December 30, 2012. All have been played in Morrow, Georgia.

Both games will be available on live stats but there will be no video coverage of either of the two Clayton State contests.
