Clayton State to Host Armstrong State in Peach Belt Conference Action

MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (7-4, 2-2 PBC) wraps up their mini two-game homestand as they host Armstrong State (4-7, 2-2 PBC) in Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday, January 6. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at The Loch.

The Pirates travel north to Morrow, Georgia after having their season-high three-game win streak snapped at No. 22 Columbus (1/4). In that game, a late three-pointer went off the mark as the Cougars secured a 78-75 victory.

ASU lost their first four games of the season, falling to Anderson (81-69 on 11/14), Queens (83-82 on 11/15), Hope International (80-78 on 11/23) and Arizona Christian (91-73 on 11/24) before defeating Brewton Parker 97-68 on December 5. Following road losses at Lynn and Young Harris, they downed North Georgia 77-73 (12/19), Truett-McConnell 84-60 (12/30) and USC Aiken 75-60 for their three-game stretch.

The Lakers, meanwhile, come into the game having knocked off defending Peach Belt Conference champion Montevallo (1/4) in their last outing. A Sweet 16 participant a year ago, the Falcons could not recover from a 67-61 deficit in the final minute as Clayton State notched an impressive 72-67 victory. The win also snapped UM's seven-game win streak and was their first PBC loss of the season.

Full live coverage of the game will be available through live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com. P.J. Mays and Tom Giffin will bring you the call of the game while a full recap will be available online directly following the contest.
