MORROW, Ga. – Having dropped their first league game, and first game since late November, No. 12/19 Clayton State (16-2, 10-1 PBC) returns to action when they head to Augusta (15-5, 8-3 PBC) for a battle of first place teams in the Peach Belt Conference. Game time is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 30 in Augusta, Georgia.
The Jaguars come into the game having won 12 of their last 15 games, including eight in the PBC. That performance has them tied for first place in the East Division with Lander. Following a 67-61 loss to the Bearcats on January 9, Augusta has gone on to win four of its next five games, including a 56-52 decision over UNC Pembroke (1/27) in their last outing.
The Lakers, meanwhile, dropped a 71-59 decision at Georgia Southwestern (1/27) in their last outing. That snapped a 13-game win streak dating back to November 27 when they fell to No. 9/18 Lubbock Christian, a program that is currently No. 1 in both national polls. That stretch has Clayton State firmly atop the West Division standings entering the weekend.
