Clayton State Heads to Augusta for Battle with PBC East Second Place Jaguars

MORROW, Ga. – With a hot streak having pulled them within serious contention for one of the Peach Belt Conference West Division's four tournament berths, Clayton State (12-6, 7-4 PBC) faces an always challenging Augusta (11-7, 7-4 PBC) squad on Saturday, January 30. Game time is set for 2 p.m. in Augusta, Georgia following the conclusion of the women's game.

The Jaguars find themselves in second place in the PBC East Division following four wins in their last five games and eight of their last 10. Recently they have defeated Armstrong (1/13) 92-87, Columbus State (1/16) 81-77, Flagler (1/23) 84-73 and UNC Pembroke (1/27) 66-62. Their only loss during that stretch was a 105-99 double overtime decision to Young Harris (1/18).

Clayton State has won four straight and six of their last eight to pull into the fifth spot in the West Division, even with Georgia College and one game behind both Columbus State and Montevallo. GC currently has the advantage with a head-to-head win but the Lakers knocked off UM in their first meeting. They have yet to face the Cougars.

In their recent four-game winning streak, Clayton State has knocked off Flagler (1/16) 87-73, UNC Pembroke (1/18) 84-80, North Georgia (1/24) 83-75 and, most recently, Georgia Southwestern (1/27) on the road by a narrow 84-82 score.

Full live coverage of the game will be available through live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com. A full recap will also be available directly following the contest.
