No. 22 Clayton State Welcomes UNC Pembroke to The Loch on Military Appreciation Day

MORROW, Ga. – Riding an 11-game win streak and with an unblemished league record, Clayton State (14-1, 8-0 PBC) comes into a holiday matinee matchup with UNC Pembroke (8-7, 3-5 PBC) on Monday, January 18. Game time is set for a special 1:30 p.m. tip-off at The Loch on Martin Luther King Day. It will also be Military Appreciation Day for the Lakers.

The Braves travel south with a modest three-game win streak in tow following an impressive 77-56 victory over North Georgia (1/16). Prior to that game they defeated Montevallo (1/9) 60-50 and Francis Marion (1/13) 75-63. Also to their credit this year, though it doesn't count in their record, is a 67-62 exhibition victory at Division I Campbell (11/13).

Clayton State returns home from their longest road trip, by distance, of the year. In their last outing they traveled to St. Augustine, Florida and held off a challenging Flagler program, eventually pulling out a 70-58 victory.

The win marked their 11th straight dating back to a 77-40 win over Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on November 28. Now ranked No. 22 entering the week, the Lakers lone loss of the season has come to Lubbock Christian, a team that is currently ranked No. 2 in the D2SIDA Media Poll and No. 4 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll.
