Clayton State Men's Basketball Travels to Flagler for Weekend PBC Action

MORROW, Ga. – Coming off a heartbreaking last second loss, Clayton State (8-6, 3-4 PBC) hits the road on their longest trip as they head to St. Augustine, Florida for a matchup with Flagler (6-9, 25 PBC). Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16 following the conclusion of the women's game.

After enduring a four-game losing streak that stretched into the New Year, the Saints have recovered to win two of their last four games. They opened that stretch with a 72-70 win over USC Aiken (1/4) before dropping back-to-back contests to Francis Marion (1/6) and Aiken (1/9) by scores of 78-75 and 72-66, respectively. In their most recent outing, they snapped that two game slide with a 79-76 win over Georgia Southwestern (1/12).

For the Lakers, they are recovering from a last second jumper by Georgia College's Terrell Harris that left them with a narrow 77-75 loss on Wednesday, January 13. In that game, however, junior guard Alfonso Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) did something that only three other players in Clayton State history have done before.

In 34 minutes of action, he ripped down a record-tying 19 rebounds while putting up 28 points, four assists, three blocks and a pair of steals. That feat tied the performances by Sherod Flono against Limestone on February 19, 1997 and Keith Herring vs. Brewton-Parker on January 11, 1992. It is also the highest rebound total in the program's NCAA Division II era.

Full live coverage of the game will be available through live stats and live video on www.ClaytonStateSports.com. A full recap will also be available directly following the contest.
