League-Leading Clayton State Puts Nine Game Win Streak On Line Against Georgia College

MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (12-1, 6-0 PBC) returns home to take on Georgia College (13-2, 5-1 PBC) in a battle of top teams in the Peach Belt Conference on Wednesday, January 13. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at The Loch.

The Bobcats visit Morrow after having their program record 13-game win streak snapped by a 62-52 loss at No. 15 Columbus State on Saturday, January 9. Prior to that defeat they had won each of their games since opening the season with a 73-55 defeat to Emmanuel (11/13). That stretch included five PBC victories, among them a 66-58 decision against North Georgia (1/2).

Clayton State comes in tied with Columbus for the overall league lead with a 6-0 conference record and are also tied atop the West Division. Most recently the Lakers have been in the midst of one of the toughest stretches of the season.

They defeated 9-4 Armstrong State (1/6), which won their first eight games of the season, and knocked off 11-3 North Georgia (1/9) on the road by a 73-71 score. Their 12-1 start has not gone unnoticed nationally either as they received 25 votes in last week's USA Today Sports Coaches Poll, prior to earning their two most recent victories.

P.J. Mays and Jessica Charman will bring you all the action live on the live broadcast along with live stats being available on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.
