MORROW, Ga. – In their second to last non-conference action Clayton State (5-1, 0-0 PBC) proved to be in midseason form with a commanding 98-67 victory over Trevecca Nazarene (2-6, 0-0 GMAC) in an NCAA Division II men's basketball game on Monday, December 7.

Junior forward
Alfonso Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) led the way with a double-double of 16 points and 10 boards, six off of the offensive glass, while sophomore guard
Dantez Bennamon (Goose Creek, S.C.) finished with 15 points, four boards and three assists.

Senior guard
SirDarius Henry (Atlanta, Ga.) added a well-rounded game of 10 points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds in just 12 minutes of action. Joining him in double-figures was senior guard
Saiquan Terry (Manchester, Ga.) with 11 points, five assists and a pair of steals. Senior center
Richard Bell (West Sussex, England) finished with nine points and eight boards and sophomore guard
Kendall Joseph (Snellville, Ga.) and redshirt-freshman guard
Marquise Clark (Miami, Fla.) each added nine points.

After managing just a narrow 9-8 lead over the first 6:37, Clayton State exploded for a massive 29-5 run that would span 8:08. That stretch would blow the game wide open at 38-13 and feature seven points from Joseph. From there they would close the half with a 46-20 advantage as the Trojans could gain no traction.

It would get no better at the start of the second half as the Lakers expanded their lead beyond 35, at 62-27, with a 16-7 run over the first 4:40. That lead would soon extend to 40 points at 73-33 as Clayton State didn't give an inch on their way to the 98-67 victory.

Mac Walden led the Trojans with a game-high 24 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including five threes while Jalen Palm finished with 15 points. Tyrell Corwlew added seven points and five boards while Christopher Elliott chipped in with seven points. Byron Sanford, TNU's leading scorer at better than 19 points per game, was held scoreless but grabbed six rebounds to round out the top performers.
