MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (6-3, 1-1 PBC) opens up the 2016 portion of the season on the road at Young Harris (4-7, 2-0 PBC) as they begin Peach Belt Conference action in earnest on Saturday, January 2. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Young Harris, Georgia following the conclusion of the women's game.
 
The Mountain Lions enter the second half of the season following wins in three of their last four games, including league wins over Armstrong State (83-72 on 12/17) and Flagler (84-71 on 12/19). Prior to that stretch, YHC had lost six of their first seven games.
 
The Lakers, meanwhile, dropped a pair of heartbreakers against Lane (78-75 on 12/15) and Lander (78-77 in OT on 12/17) before closing 2015 on a high note. In their final game of the first half of the season they took down a 7-2 Francis Marion squad by an 81-70 score on December 19. That win snapped their mini slide and set them up to start the second half of the season.
