Senior forward Takija Knight (Crawfordville, Fla.) put up some impressive numbers in three games this past week, averaging 10.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks whil shooting .520 from the field and .833 from the foul line.
Against Lane (12/15), he had eight points, eight boards and three blocks in a narrow 78-75 defeat before delivering another strong outing, this time vs. Lander (12/17) in the Lakers PBC opener. In 38 minutes of action Knight scored 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting, pulled down six rebounds and had another three blocks in a 78-77 overtime loss.
He would close the week with another impressive outing, this time against Francis Marion (12/19). In that game he finished with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting while hauling in six rebounds, dishing out a pair of assists and notching a steal and a block in 35 minutes. That performance helped lead Clayton State to an 81-70 victory. In all three games, he also grabbed two offensive rebounds and was effective in altering shots that he was not able to get a hand on.
On the year he is averaging 8.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and nearly a steal a game. That goes along with a .534 field goal percentage and .900 mark from the foul line in 24.9 minutes per game. Currently he ranks fourth in blocks in the PBC.
