Senior Zach Czerniak (Suwanee, Ga.) paced the Lakers in their opening race of the shortened season. Clayton State competed in the Coach Gary Wilson Invitational on Oct. 10 on the campus of the University of West Georgia.

Czerniak was one of six runners for the Lakers' cross country team and produced a time of 28:44.55. Overall, he finished 17th while the team placed sixth of seven teams.
