Junior goalkeeper Theo Blachon (St. Etienne, France) burst on the scene as he delivered five shutouts and a sterling 6-2 record over his first eight games at the NCAA Division II level. Additionally, those five shutouts would rank second in the country and be just one off the national lead.

He would not miss a minute, playing all 724 while delivering victories over Anderson (9/5), Erskine (9/7), Southern Wesleyan (9/11), Tampa (9/14), West Alabama (9/21) and Shorter (9/24).

Of those, Anderson was the only one that managed a goal in a 2-1 game while he shutout Shorter, which was the highest scoring team in Division II at the time. It was a narrow 1-0 decision on the road at Tampa right after the Lakers offense put up a program record 10 scores in a shutout of SWU.

Not just a defensive wall, Blachon also helped his own cause with not just one but two assists as he found sophomore midfielder Brad Kay (Manchester, England) against Erskine and UWA. Additionally, he earned a pair of Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors, collecting those on September 16 and 30.
