Sophomore forward Dean Foster (Johannesburg, South Africa) made the most of his eight games in order to be named the Male Student-Athlete of the Month honors for October.

During the month he registered four goals and three assists for 11 points, including two of the most important scores in a number of years. On October 18, Clayton State trailed No. 7 Young Harris at Laker Field late in the second half. Foster drilled the game-tying goal in the 69^th minute before delivering the game-winner from 30 yards out in the 96^th minute for a 4-3 victory.
 
On top of that, he had a goal and assist against Georgia Southwestern (10/11), an assist in a 3-2 double overtime victory over Erskine (10/4) and the lone goal in a 1-1 tie at USC Aiken (10/21). He would go on to be named All-Peach Belt Conference First-Team following the close of the regular season.
