Jamal Watson joined Clayton State University as the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine in May of 2022.
No stranger to the Peach Belt Conference, Watson joins Laker Nation after spending three seasons at conference opponent Columbus State University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. While at Columbus, Watson covered men’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s tennis.
Watson has assisted with treatments, rehab and medical paperwork for student-athletes under his care. He has also been responsible for athletic training coverage at games and practices and the scheduling of doctor visits.
Prior to Columbus State, Watson spent two seasons at Young Harris as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer where he covered men’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis.
Watson earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Georgia. He is BOC, First Aid and CPR/AED certified. Jamal is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
