Pre-Clayton State: Lettered two seasons at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Ga… Head coach at Middle Georgia was Scott Moe… Led Middle Georgia in scoring as a freshman at 16 points a game and was selected NJCAA All-Region… Battled a knee injury during his sophomore season, averaging nine points a game.

High School: Lettered four seasons in basketball at East Laurens High School in Dublin, Ga… High school head coach was Jimmy Williams… A four-time All-Region selection… Averaged 20 points a freshman, 18 points as a sophomore, 19 points as a junior and 16 points as a senior… Helped pace East Laurens to Class AA State Quarterfinals as a senior… Was also a standout in both football and track and field.
