Jarri Goodman

Jarri Goodman joined the Laker Family in September of 2017 and begins his seventh year as head cheerleading coach. 
 
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: ATLANTA DREAM (WNBA – 2014-PRESENT)
A veteran of training in various forms of public performance, including ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern dance, Goodman has produced an impressive career, including at the professional level.
 
Since 2014 he has been a member of the dance team for the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) Atlanta Dream. Those four seasons have seen him serve as team captain.
 
COLLEGIATE CAREER: ALABAMA STATE, MERCER
Following a high school career at Griffin High School that included competition and varsity football cheerleading he earned scholarships at Division I Alabama State and Mercer. During that time he earned National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) All-American honors.
 
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Following his collegiate career, Goodman returned home to his native Griffin, Georgia and served as the dance coordinator for the Griffin High School Dancing Divas for five years.
 
He is also currently the dance director at Jonesboro High School and holds numerous dance and cheerleading camps in the South Atlanta Metro area. Through the latter he is able to share the discipline learned through dance and the knowledge gained from an education with those with a passion for the sport.
 
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND HONORS
In his career he has not only had a pair of dancers advance to the Georgia State Tournament but has also been invited to serve as a guest judge. That included doing so for the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program.
 
EDUCATION
Goodman holds a Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education with an Endorsement in Science Education from Mercer as well as a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern. He is also currently a doctoral candidate in Education Leadership at Arkansas.
