2017: Over the course of five meets, competed in 16 events … … member of 4x100-meter relay that broke nine-year old program record twice … first broke that mark with time of 49.33 at Emory Classic (3/25) and again at the Peach Belt Conference Championships (4/22) with a mark of 48.73 … delivered two other personal bests at PBC Championships in 200-meters (25.83) and 4x400-meter relay (4:06.46) … two other PR’s came in 100-meters (13.51) at Emory Classic (3/25) and 400-meters (1:01.20) at the Berry Field Day Invitational (4/8) … helped 4x100-meter relay (49.53) to runner-up outing and 4x400-meter relay to fourth place finish at Berry.
Cross Creek High School: Played basketball and competed in track & field … helped lead basketball program to region championship as a sophomore and runner-up finishes in her other three seasons … team made Elite Eight appearances during her sophomore and junior seasons and Sweet 16 trips as a freshman and junior … on the track, was part of 3-AA and 4-AA Region Championships … individually, qualified for the Georgia State Championships in the 4x400-meter relay as a freshman and sophomore … earned three straight region runner-up finishes in final three seasons … was also third in 200-meters as a sophomore … member of Student Government Association (SGA), serving as Class and Student Body President in 2015.
Personal: Born on December 22, 1996, Ja’Via is the daughter of Tanya and Joel Grice … family includes a sister, Tanya, who is a member of the Paine College track & field team … currently majoring in Health & Fitness Management.
