Indoor Track & Field
2014-15: Competed in five meets and nine events … named to USTFCCCA Indoor All-Southeast Region in triple jump … earned four NCAA Division II provisional marks, missing qualification for the national championships by a centimeter … won the triple jump twice, notching a distance of 11.61-meters at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker (12/5) and a mark of 11.96-meters at the Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational (2/28) … delivered season-best distance of 12.03-meters in triple jump at UCS Invitational (2/21).

2013-14: Saw action in six meets, competing in 15 events … won three events, all of them triple jump, including a then career-best distance of 11.89-meters at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational (3/1) … also accomplished the feat at the Hillsdale Tune-Up (2/22) and Sewanee Indoor Tiger Invitational (2/1) … was second in triple at Emory Crossplex Invitational (1/26) with a distance of 11.80m.

2012-13: Competed in seven meets in first season … earned trip to NCAA Division II National Championships (3/9), finishing 18th (11.51m) … had three first place finishes in triple jump … notched those at Winston-Salem Open (1/20) with mark of 11.77m, at Emory Crossplex Invitational (1/28) at 12.13m and finally at JDL Fast Track Championship Tune-Up (2/16) also at 12.13m.

Outdoor Track & Field
2015: Saw action in six meets and eight events … qualified for program record third straight NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in triple jump … named to USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Southeast Region … selected as Peach Belt Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week (5/12) … earned three top five finishes, including fourth place in triple jump (11.30m) at Peach Belt Conference Championships (4/18) … placed 15-of-21 in triple jump (11.76m) at NCAA Championships (5/23).

2014: Competed in nine meets and 18 events … earned four victories, three in the triple jump, including the 2014 Peach Belt Conference Championship (4/19) with a mark of 11.86-meters … that performance earned her All-Peach Belt Conference First-Team honors … named USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Southeast Region in the triple jump … Peach Belt Field Athlete of the Week (4/15) … qualified for NCAA Division II National Championships (5/24) in triple jump … placed 16th in that event with a mark of 12.08m … won both the triple jump (11.85m) and long jump (5.09m) at Emory Classic (3/29) … added triple jump victory at Emory Invitational (3/22) … third in triple at Troy’s Coach “O” Invitational (4/26) … notched runner-up finish in same event at Georgia Invitational (5/10) with individual best 12.27-meters.

2013: Saw action in seven meets and 16 events … named Peach Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week (Apr. 16, Apr. 30) … earned All-PBC Second-Team honors with runner-up finish at league championships (4/20) … qualified for NCAA Division II National Championships (5/25), finishing 11th in the triple jump (12.08m) … had six top five finishes, including a pair of program records in the triple jump … notched first of the latter with an 11.85-meter mark in claiming first place at the Furman Blue Shoes Invitational (4/13) and obliterated that two weeks later with a distance of 12.39-meters in finishing second in that event at the Troy Coach “O” Invitational (4/27) … won the triple jump at Emory Invitational (3/23) with a distance of 11.32-meters and at the Emory Classic (3/30) at 11.81-meters.

Monroe Area High School: Four-year member of Hurricanes’s track & field program … posted tremendous senior campaign, placing fourth at the Georgia State Championships in the triple jump and placing in the hurdles and long jump … that season, broke school record in triple jump and 4x100-meters while placing second in the hurdles in regionals … holds three school records in triple jump and 4x100 … as a junior, qualified for Georgia State Championships in the hurdles … graduated with Highest Honors, an accomplishment reserved for just the top 10 students out of a class of 200 … earned Student-Athlete Award as member of that august group with highest grade point average.

Personal: Born on March 19, 1994, Jessica is the daughter of Jeffery and Sheryl Matthews … family includes a brother, Julia, and a brother, Jeffery … currently majoring in Nursing.
