2013: Helped lead the program to a third place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship (10/26) while running the ninth-fastest 6K time in team history (22:25.10) … earned All-Peach Belt Conference honors … named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team … was team’s top finisher in three meets and was chosen as Team Most Valuable Player … recorded three Top-10 finishes.

2012: Ran in five of seven meets … helped lead team to Peach Belt Conference championship, runner-up finish in NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and first ever berth in NCAA National Championships ... posted career best time of 24:12.34 at the PBC Championships (10/20), placing 25th ... finished fifth in the Falcon Classic (9/22) with a time of 24:30 … that performance helped the Lakers to a victory in that outing.

2011: Competed in all six races as a freshman ... delivered 5k career best of 20:19 at the JSU Foothills Invitational (10/8), finishing 46th ... helped Lakers to runner-up finish at Peach Belt Conference Championships (10/22), posting a time of 25:01, good for 25th ... delivered time of 25:05 at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional (11/5) … that performance guided the program to a seventh place finish.

2013: Saw action in 10 games.

2012: Played in six games, starting one … had one assist on the season against Coker (9/11) … registered four of her five shots in that game.

Indoor Track & Field
2014-15: Competed in four meets and seven events … earned a pair of USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors in 800-meters and the mile … posted four top five finishes, including a pair of first place outings … won the distance medley relay (13:28.02) at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker (12/5) and the 800-meters (2:18.67) at the UCS Invitational (2/21) … was also second in mile (5:13.47) at Icebreaker and runner-up in 800-meters (2:16.91) at Emory Crossplex Invitational (1/25).

2013-14: Saw action in five meets, garnering six top five outings in 10 events … those included a pair of first place finishes at the Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational (2/1) in the mile (5:26.75) and 800-meters (2:24.69) and a season opening victory in the distance medley relay at the Winston-Salem State Open (1/19) … was also second in 800-meters (2:20.15) at Emory Crossplex Invitational (1/26).

2011-12: Competed in four meets as a freshman … earned USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region in 800-meters … placed sixth in distance medley relay (13:04.25) at NCAA Division II Team Challenge (2/4).

2015: Saw action in five meets and nine events ... became just the second individual in program history to be named Capital One Academic All-District … named USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region in 800-meters … earned spot on Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team … notched six top five finishes, including a pair of victories … won the 4x800-meter relay (9:45.73) at the 5th Annual Adonica Ferguson Relays (3/1) and the 4x400-meter relay (3:56.07) at the Emory Invitational (3/21) … was second in 1,500-meters (4:51.98) at Cougar Open and fourth in 4x400-meters (3:56.09) and 800-meters (2:15.18) at the Peach Belt Conference Championships (4/18).

2014: Ran in seven meets … had 11 top five finishes in the 13 events she competed in … named USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region in the 800-meters … won distance medley relay (12:51.33) at 4th Annual Adonica Ferguson Relays (3/2) … placed second in the 400-meters (1:00.93) at the Cougar Invitational (3/1) and in the 800-meters (2:19.11) at the Troy’s Coach “O” Invitational (4/26) … was third in 4x800-meter relay (9:35.92) at Emory Invitational (3/22) … notched three fifth place finishes at Peach Belt Conference Championships, doing so in the 4x400-meter relay (4:03.80), 800-meters (2:18.78) and 1,500-meters (4:52.37).

2012: Competed in five meets … named to USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region in 800-meters … delivered five top five finishes in nine competitions … won distance medley relay at 41st Annual Morehouse Relays (3/17) … earned runner-up finish in 800-meters (2:21.98) at NCAA Division II Southeast Regional (4/21) … was also third in 800-meters (2:19.73) at Emory Invitational (3/24) as well as in the 4x800-meters (9:40.13) at the Emory Classic (3/31).

Personal: Born on June 17, 1991, Maia is the daughter of Hans-Peter Kuhnen and Sibylle Bauer … family includes a sister, Lea, who was a German rowing national champion … earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a concentration in Health and Fitness … currently enrolled in graduate program, pursuing a Masters in Psychology and Human Services.
