MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team finished its homestand with a 1-1 draw against #22 Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers and Panthers played a highly competitive match throughout.
The Lakers and Panthers combined for 10 shots the entire half. The Panthers peppered
George Roke with three shots in the first eight minutes of the match, but the score still read 0-0. Florida Tech continued to control the ball until the 27
th minute. After a foul in the box,
Othmane Chagour converted the penalty kick in the 30
th minute and made the score, 1-0.
The first half ended with the Lakers taking a 1-0 lead.

Florida Tech controlled most of the possession in the second half and attempted seven shots to only two for Clayton State. The Laker defensive unit stood tall most of the half until the 68
th minute. Florida Tech was fouled in the box and was awarded a penalty kick. The Panthers knotted up the match on a successful penalty and made the score, 1-1. The Lakers saw their best opportunity come in the 75
th minute when
Charlie Longino was streaking down the farside and could not find a teammate for the goal. The score stood at 1-1.
The Lakers and Panthers ended in a 1-1 draw.
