MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's basketball team embarked on its final road trip of the season as they played the Bobcats of Georgia College & State University on Wednesday evening. GCSU topped the Lakers, 83-71.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 45-22 lead after the first 20 minutes of action.
Nina Blade led the Lakers with 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting and she grabbed six boards.
Devyne Turner was the lone Laker to make a three in the half and she did that with 1:30 left in the second quarter. The Bobcats shot 46% from the field and 54% from the three-point line. GCSU led by as much as 23 in the half.

The Lakers started to turn it on offensively in the third quarter as they started on a 13-4 run but still trailed 49-35.
Deborrah Redmon scored five points while
Aaliyah Reid added four points during that run.
Tamaria White scored two of the last three field goals of the third quarter, but the Bobcats still led by 17 at 58-41. Redmon picked up where she left off and scored seven of the first eight points of the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to 14 at 63-49. Turner then provided most of the scoring for the Lakers mid-way into the quarter as she drained four free throws and a pair of field goals. The Lakers still were behind, 75-60.
The Lakers outscored the Bobcats in the second half 49-38 but still dropped this road contest to GCSU, 83-71.
