MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team (8-2-6) is set to travel to play Georgia College & State University in the Quarterfinals of the.2024 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) tournament on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY/LAST MATCHUP
The Bobcats own a 10-9-4 series advantage over Clayton State.  This season, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw on October 2nd.  In the match, the Lakers were out shot, 17-14 and Trinity Chastain made eight saves to seal the draw.  The Lakers have played Georgia College once in postseason history but was shutout, 2-0, in the first round in 2007.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
The Lakers are 11-18-5 in PBC postseason history.  Those five ties resulted in five PK wins with the last one being in 2019 against UNC Pembroke and North Georgia.  The Lakers are 5-0 in PK shootouts in PBC postseason play.  The Lakers have not won a true PBC postseason match since their last Tournament championship in 2013 as they beat Lander, 2-1 in overtime.

BOOK ON GEORGIA COLLEGE
The Bobcats are riding high going into postseason play winning their last four matches and outscoring opponents, 13-2, in the process.  The Bobcats are led by the Amrozowicz sisters Ali and Morgan.  Ali leads the team with five goals while Morgan leads the team in assists with five.  Ava Martin also has scored four goals this season matching a team second-best.  In net, Maddie Drake and Ella Hayes leads the team.  Drake is 5-2-2 with 42 saves and seven goals conceded while Hayes is 2-4-1 with 12 goals conceded.

LAKER PERFORMERS

The Lakers are led by their high-powered offensive attack of Carrie Consolino and Amiah Sprunger-Hightower.  Consolino is second in the PBC and nation with 18 goals and has scored the most number of goals in a single season since Olaiton Yuself in 2007.  She also leads the team with 40 points, 66 shots, and 35 shots on frame.  Sprunger-Hightower is second on the team with 11 goals and leads the team with five assists.  Coach Henderson hopes to get Consolino and Sprunger-Hightower going down the stretch to ensure that the Lakers advance to their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2013.

The Lakers are also led by defenders Daniela Gularte and Julia Hasenecz.  Gularte and Hasenecz have notched a combined four assists this season.  The Lakers have given teams fits on the offensive attack this season only conceding a PBC fourth-best 14 goals.  That all starts with Hasenecz and Gularte as the leaders of the defensive side of the ball.  Speaking of defense, the Lakers would not be where they are at today without the work of Trinity Chastain.  In 14 matches, Chastain is 7-2-5 with six shutouts, 11 goals surrendered, and 60 saves.  The Lakers are on pace to concede the third-fewest goals in program history and the fewest since 2007.
