MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team played Flagler College in the 2024 Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship game at Laker Field on Sunday afternoon. The Saints used two second half goals to down Clayton State, 2-1.
The first half proved to be dominated by the defense as they only allowed a combined eight shots. The Lakers possessed the ball 64% of the half but the Flagler defense, for most of the half, stood tall. The Lakers scored the match's first goal. In the 40
th minute,
Alexis Iturria went top-shelf and fired a shot past the Saint keeper making the score, 1-0.
Alexis led the Lakers with four shots and his team led, 1-0, going into the halftime break.

The Second saw a lot of what the first half had to offer in terms of defense as there was only one shot taken in the first five minutes of the half. Neither team put any pressure on the keeper until the 80
th minute when Flagler knotted up the match at one.
The Saints scored the go-ahead goal in the 86
th minute and defeated the Lakers, 2-1.
