Men's Soccer Shutouts Young Harris for the First Time in School History on Tuesday

Alerte marked a goal and an assist

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team returned home to Laker Field to host old Peach Belt Conference (PBC) rival Young Harris College on Tuesday afternoon. The Lakers took down the Mountain Lions, 3-0.
 
The Mountain Lions came out of the gates in the first half with a lot of aggressive play.  It started in the 11th minute, when YHC put in a phenomenal shot, but it slapped out by David Magala.  Magala then made some unbelievable saves in the 21st and 22nd minutes.  The match is still tied at zero.  The Lakers then opened the scoring in the 26th minute.  Alexis Iturria brought the ball to the middle of box and Emmanuel Alerte finished for the goal, going top shelf.  The Lakers led, 1-0.
 
Clayton State added to their lead in the 27th minute.  Iturria got past the keeper who fed the ball to Alerte and Geo Rios scored on an empty goal.  The Lakers led 2-0.  Clayton State only had three shots the entire half, but they converted on two of those three shots as they led 2-0 going into the halftime break.

The Lakers extended their lead later in the second half.   In the 55th minute, Vic Delgado Miller fed Wilfried Kamden in the far sideline.  Kamden then was streaking down that sideline and finished for the third goal of the match.  The Lakers led, 3-0.  The Mountain Lions were knocking at the door in numerous occasions during the second half, but all their shots were stopped by Magala. 
 
The Lakers shutout the Mountain Lions, 3-0.
