AMERICUS, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team played the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State University on Wednesday night. The Lakers used four first half goals and won, 5-0.
The Lakers got off to a hot start in the first half. In the seventh minute,
Geo Rios was streaking down the nearside corner, and he fed the ball to
Vic Delgado Miller who finished for the goal. The Lakers were up, 1-0. The Lakers added to their lead in 12
th minute as
Ian Gomez found
Langston Blackstock who fired a shot, top shelf, past the Hurricane keeper for the goal. The Lakers doubled their lead to 2-0. The Lakers kept the pressure on the Hurricanes as they added another goal. In the 22
nd minute, Rios sent in an excellent through-ball on the far side to Blackstock who scored his second goal of the match and made the score, 3-0.
The Lakers added an unassisted goal by
Hector Fuentes in the 34
th minute as the Lakers took a 4-0 lead going into the half.

The Lakers kept up the pressure in the second half as Rios,
Youkendjy Pacius, and
Josy Gomez all sent in shots in the early part of the half. The Lakers then tacked on another goal in the 80
th minute.
Christian Ransome kicked the ball from midfield and found Pacius in the nearside corner. Pacius then dribbled the ball into the box and shot in his second goal of season making the score, 5-0.
The Lakers outshot the Hurricanes, 16-1, in the match and went onto win, 5-0.
