MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State women's soccer team battled Lincoln Memorial to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday afternoon in a Division II non-conference matchup.
Luise Domnick scored her first career goal in the 7th minute after intercepting an error pass from the opponent. The sophomore found herself in wide-open space at the top of the box, settled herself and delivered a left-footed strike to put Clayton State (0-1-1) ahead 1-0.
A little over seven minutes later,
Natalie Barbara played a quick free kick to
Moa Loftman, who then crossed a brilliant ball to
Kamila Mroziewicz who was able to find the back of the net for the second goal of the match.
The Railsplitters (1-0-1) answered back in the 31st minute to cut the lead to one goal.
Despite pulling ahead 2-1 at halftime, the Lakers were outshot by Lincoln Memorial 8-2.
After a foul in the 73rd minute by Clayton State, Lincoln Memorial capitalized off a free kick after the ball was placed in the box and headed in for the equalizer.
The game would not see another goal as both teams closed the half and both overtime periods without scoring.
The Lakers ended the game being outshot 18-7 but placed six of their shots on goal.
Valentina Bonaiuto made six saves in the draw.
