MORROW, Ga. –  The Clayton State women's soccer team battled Lander University on Wednesday night but fell 3-2 in a Peach Belt Conference mid-week match at Laker Field.
 
The Bearcats scored in the fifth minute to take an early 1-0 lead before scoring less than 10 minutes later to lead 2-0 after 14:28 of action.
 
Just over 10 minutes later, 
Reia Henry scored her fist goal in a Laker uniform as 
Moa Loftman found the Brit off a free kick.
 
Clayton State wasn't able to celebrate long as Lander found the back of the net for the third and final time in the 30th minute. The Bearcats would lead 3-1 at halftime.
 
The second half was a scoreless affair until the 83rd minute. 
Pia Haug connected with 
Paige Clemenson who found Henry for her second goal of the match and one last chance to even the score.
 
Clayton State was able to get one more shot off but time ran out as the Bearcats took the victory.
