MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team is set to play No. 9 Young Harris College on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. Peach Belt Conference matchup.
Originally scheduled for a home game at Laker Field, Wednesday's matchup will now be played in Peachtree City, Ga. at the
MOBA Soccer Complex because of weather. Due to the change of venue, live stats and live video broadcast will be unavailable. A copy of the game film will be uploaded after the match.
Fans are welcome to attend the match. Admission will be free of charge.
Young Harris enters Wednesday's contest as the No. 9 team in country with a 9-0 record and a 5-0 PBC record. The Mountain Lions are first in the league with 15 points and have allowed only five goals in nine games.
The Mountain Lions are led by Saad Maziane (7 goals) and Mikkel Goling (5 goals) while Quinn Thompson leads the team with five assists.
Clayton State trails 9-4 in the overall series and have lost four-straight including two, one-goal decisions last season.
The Lakers sit at 4-4-2 this season and have a 3-1-1 league record. They are second in the PBC with 10 points.
Geo Rios leads the team with 16 points off four goals and leads the PBC with eight assists. Those eight assists rank second in the nation and are just two off the lead. He is also tied for fourth in the PBC with those 16 points.
Langston Blackstock and
Alexis Iturria each have four goals while
Joe Conway has three.
Theo Blachon leads the country in minutes played (964:34) and leads the conference with 33 saves.
On Saturday, Young Harris will host Flagler while Clayton State travels to North Georgia.
