ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Clayton State men's soccer team lost 2-1 at Flagler Saturday night in a critical Peach Belt Conference matchup.
The Lakers are second in the conference with 16 points and are just one point ahead of Lander. No. 5 Young Harris are at the top of the standings with 25 points.
After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, the Saints scored the opening goal in the 58th minute. Clayton State answered over three minutes later as
Alexis Iturria equalized the game at 1-1 in the 61st minute.
Flagler wouldn't go away easy though and scored the gamewinner in the 69th minute.
Clayton State outshot Flagler 23-19 but the two schools each placed 10 on goal.
Langston Blackstock and
