COLUMBIA, S.C. – Another week, another record down as Clayton State men's and women's indoor track & field competed at the USC Open on Saturday, February 22.
Â
Senior
Jasmine Radford (Lawrenceville, Ga.) stole the show among the contingent of three Lakers seeking NCAA Division II Championships qualifying marks as she reset her own 200-meter record for a second straight week.
Â
Competing against runners from all three levels of the NCAA as well as the junior college and unattached ranks, Radford posted a time of 25.02 to finish 8-of-72. That time lowered her own program record of 25.19 that she set just last week at the KMS Open.
Â
Senior
Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.) delivered another solid performance in the 60-meters as she finished 11-of-57 with a time of 7.71. That was just 0.04 away from an NCAA Provisional mark.
Â
While that mark was just off of a provisional, senior
Chris Florence (Newnan, Ga.) would clear it by that same margin in the 400-meters. In that one he would post a time of 48.47 to finish 12-of-81 in that event and put his name on the provisional qualification list.
Â
Clayton State will now await word on if any individuals will earn qualification to the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships from March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
