MORROW, Ga. – After returning to the national rankings for the first time in eight seasons, No. 19 Clayton State (4-1, 0-0 PBC) men's soccer will take on West Alabama for the first time in program history as the clubs meet at Laker Field on Saturday, September 21. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Laker Field.
 
While it is the first time the teams will meet, it is not UWA's first time playing at Laker Field. The Tigers defeated Francis Marion by a 2-1 score on August 30, 2018 when the club's met in a neutral site game in Morrow.
 
NATIONAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Nationally, Clayton State has made their mark, not just in the polls but in the statistical rankings. As of the September 19 release, they are third in the nation in total goals (15) as a team, 10^th in total points (36), 12^th in scoring offense (3.0), and 22^nd in points per game (7.2).
 
Individually, the numbers are just as impressive as redshirt-senior Ryan King (County Durham, England) continues to be the national leader in total goals (7) and total points (15) while also ranking third in both goals per game (1.75) and points per game (3.75).
 
On top of that, junior goalkeeper Theo Blachon (St. Etienne, France) is tied for the third most shutouts in the country with three, is 14^th in goals against average (0.44) and 14^th in save percentage (.905). Additionally, sophomore Brad Kay (Manchester, England) is 33^rd in total goals with three.
