Clayton State Hosts Francis Marion in Key PBC Meeting on Senior Day

MORROW, Ga. – In what will be a key Peach Belt Conference meeting, Clayton State (4-4-2, 1-4-0 PBC) hosts Francis Marion (5-5-1, 2-3-0 PBC) on Saturday, October 13. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Laker Field as the clubs battle for postseason positioning.

All-time, the Lakers hold a 5-8-1 advantage over FMU dating back to the first meeting on October 5, 1996. That 8-0 win was the first of six straight victories through 2001.

After the Patriots left for DI following the 2004 season, the teams met twice, deadlocking 1-1 in Florence, South Carolina on October 23, 2005 and with Clayton State notching a 5-0 win in Aiken, South Carolina on September 23, 2015. In the latter, Denisha Paskell delivered a program record four assists.

In FMU's return to the PBC in 2016, the Lakers posted a convincing 4-0 victory at Laker Field on October 1 of that year. Most recently they earned a 6-0 decision on the road on September 30, 2017. Clayton State is undefeated in the series' last five meetings and has won the last three of those by shutout. The latter is a combined score of 15-0.

There will be live video and live stats coverage of the game, both of which are available on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.

NOTE
Prior to the game the Lakers will honor a pair of individuals in graduate defender Hikari Taguchi (Saitama, Japan) and redshirt-junior Marie Durr (Stockbridge, Ga.). Both will be wrapping up their playing careers this season.
