MORROW, Ga. – The anticipated landfall of Hurricane Irma in Florida in the coming days has forced the cancellation of a pair of Clayton State women's soccer games against teams from that state this weekend.
 
The Lakers were scheduled to take on Nova Southeastern on Friday, September 8 in Columbus, Georgia and host Barry on Sunday, September 10. In the interests of safety, both of those schools have announced plans to close during the emergency. This includes the cancellation/postponement of all athletic activities, including their road contests against Clayton State.
 
The Lakers are now scheduled to return to the field on Saturday, September 16 at Lander. With the cancellation of the Barry game, the Lakers home opener will now be on Wednesday, September 20 against UNC Pembroke.
