MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (5-5, 0-2 PBC) men's soccer takes on defending NCAA Division II National Champion Wingate (8-3, 6-0 SAC) as they head to North Carolina for their final non-conference game on Saturday, October 7. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
 
The Lakers trail the all-time series 0-2-1, which dates back to October 12, 1997. That is also the last time they made the trip to Wingate, falling by a narrow 1-0 score. Following an 18-year hiatus, the series resumed on September 14, 2015 when Clayton State notched a 1-1 tie against the No. 23 team in the country.
 
Following that game in Greer, South Carolina, Wingate made its first trip to Laker Field, posting a 6-1 victory on October 10, 2016. That was their final game before moving to No. 1 in the nation and going on to win the national championship.
