MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team found themselves on the wrong side of another 2-1 decision on Wednesday night at Laker Field. The Lakers dropped their third consecutive 2-1 contest, this time against Montevallo in Peach Belt Conference action.
Clayton State (3-4-1, 1-2) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of the match on a goal by Avery Shepard, his third goal in as many games.
Montevallo (4-1-3, 1-0-2) evened the score in the second half on a goal by Steven Didik in the 56th minute. The Falcons took the lead for good in the 72nd minute on a score by Ram Gilad.
The Lakers are back on the road Friday when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take on Queens University. The region match-up is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
