Redshirt-senior forward Alfonso Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) put up impressive numbers over the course of four games, averaging 12.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.8 steals in better than 30 minutes a game.
He opened the week facing a Saint Leo (12/13) team that had length and made the NCAA Tournament a year ago. In that game he finished with seven points, 11 rebounds and an assist steal and block. Two days later against Carver (12/15) he would only be needed for 22 minutes in an 83-57 victory. In that time he put up eight points, nine boards, three blocks, two steals and a pair of assists.
As the season turned to Peach Belt play Davis's play stepped up a notch. At UNC Pembroke (12/17) he hit his first 10 shots (10-of-11) and ripped down 10 boards for a double-double. He also added two assists, two steals and a block.
He closed the week against USC Aiken (12/19), finishing with another double-double of 14 points, 10 boards, five assists, two steals and a pair of blocks in a 93-89 overtime victory.
On the season he is averaging 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.5 steals in 11 games played.
