Graduate midfielder Maria Marti Bartis (Girona, Spain) may have only scored one goal on the week but it made Clayton State Athletics history.
In the second half against Flagler (10/30) in the regular season finale, she cut into the box and stepped past a defender on the right side before burying her 10th goal of the year into the back left corner.
That score marked the third straight season she reached double digits in goals, becoming the first player to do so, not only in the history of the women's program, but all of Clayton State soccer. That encompasses 25 seasons of men's soccer and 22 seasons of women's soccer.
Additionally, earlier in the week she earned her second consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and now has a chance to be the first two-time Academic All-America in program history.
