Freshman defender Manoly Baquerizo (Guayaquil, Ecuador) helped lead the Lakers to a split of two games in which they allowed just two goals on the week.
In her first game of the week, Baquerizo played all 90 minutes and helped limit Georgia Southwestern (10/12) to five shots, only three of those on net, and one goal in a 2-1 road victory. She would also assist on the eventual game-winner in the 37 minute.
She wrapped up the week against a strong Armstrong State (10/15) team that came in at 8-1-1 and second in the Peach Belt Conference. Once again she would play all 90 minutes and anchored a defense that limited the Pirates to one goal, that coming very early on. On the day Baquerizo led a defense that faced 14 shots but held ASU to only five on goal.
On the year she has played 1,104 minutes, scored four goals and has five assists while helping the Lakers defense to a pair of shutouts as part of eight games of one goal or less.
