Junior guard/forward Alfonso Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) stepped up again as he averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in a pair of games this past week. He also shot .472 from the floor and .909 at the foul line.
Beginning the week at USC Aiken (2/10) he logged 30 minutes and put up 22 points, eight boards, six of which were offensive, two steals and a block. That performance helped lead the Lakers to an 83-78 victory and remain in the running for a berth in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
Davis would follow that up with another impressive game, this time at league leading Montevallo (2/13). In that game he scored 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting and ripped down seven boards along with an assist in 33 minutes of action.
On the year he is averaging 17.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.2 assists and nearly a steal per game. Davis is also shooting .556 from the floor and .766 at the foul line.
